Routine

As Elias said about 6 month ago, I'm at the point right now where it is no longer a exciting holiday for me here any more. :) ...I mean that before it was wayyyyy more going out to exciting places and doing things you had not done before. And now, more work, less free time ...especially now, when I'm also occupied with my OIC internship...and the times when I actually go out, there is so little of that.

Ok, last week I ended up going to a latin bar at St Michel, which was awesome....all of my dear girlfriends, you come visit me, I'll take you there for a salsa :P
Can you imagine, hot-hot-hot waiters wearing only underwear! :) what a nite it was. ;)

Other than that, recent parties are located at Trocadero, where I work, because you are too tired to go out and it is the cheapest place for drinks! + since the place I work at, there are people working from all over the world and they are usually in town for a certain period of time...6month ...a year or so. Due to that, we have had quite a lot of farewell parties lately - Hilda from Canada, Joss from Monaco, Ditte from Denmark, Ryan from Scotland, Zoe from UK..today is Tabitha's last shift and she'll go back to UK soon and there is more to come... Sad. Yet, I still like it there - Tom from Sidney, Australia is soooooo awesome person, working with him is always a blast. And Francois, one of the few actual French, he's almost as funny as my BFF, but in a more conservative way... a man with few words and only the good few.

Internship is going fine, been lazy lately, but I'm getting myself back together. Posting ad's, communicating with people all over the world, mostly US, but hell yea, still enjoying my time difference- a need to check what time it is at people's to whom I'm calling.
Here is my new footer I use when sending e-mails:

And that's it. ...oh yea...funny things that have happened to me lately:
a) Climbing the wall of Balzac's museum wall for photos.
b) Paris Plage

hmm...that's it... not so impressive, uh:) Been a long time since my last post and now there is not much to write about either. .... if you wanted to, dear reader, I could write to you about my waitress work or internship...more closely- just let me know. I just figured it is not interesting enough.

And I will upload some of my awesome shoots....I still do take photos.

Ding-Dong. Chrishara is here. We'll do nails, eat, watch a movie and catch up. Haven't seen her either .......for a looooong time....now when I think about it, it was after I got back from Est, when I last saw her...

That reminds me that I haven't really written anything about my trip to est either.... I really need to get myself together, right!!!

Love.

How to dress like a parisian II

Paris is a place where you can see people wearing ranges of clothing on a street. Tourists from all over the world + local people and who ever. However, this is the place where the fashion is and where "haute couture" was born, never the less, "knock-off" industry here is almost as if on a same level as top designers. And the parisian style, I would say, would be summed up with those three words: timelessness, "au natural"  and accessorising. Combined with a certain attitude and voilaa, almost like effortlessly flawless and elegant...and almost always with a small unnoticeable twist.

For some reason...I'm guessing that today's high-street-fashion's influence somehow does not get to those ladies here or they just don't really love bright colours and cuts that stands out too much.Neutral beige, gray, navy blue and black. (And this does not apply on shoes!) Neutral colour on clothing seems to be their favourite and classical cuts. Tucked in shirts and quality shoes and bags. Nice scarves and pearls or other jewellery that makes a whole outfit work.

Parisian women love natural look also in hair and make-up. Doing my random people watching during my daily metro rides, analysing their appearances and outfits, I have come to a conclusion that french women are  extremely controversial - most of the time, they have strangely strong facial features and yet they are so soft feminine. Their hair is usually slightly curly and it is always looks like they rather enjoy their morning coffee to doing their hair..like they chose to enjoy the time spent on hairdo to do something more satisfying..but just to make it clear - it also seems like it is just the point of it - to make it seem effortless....so I have no idea which it actually is.  And make-up. Sure there are ladies who believe that more is less, I mean those who put on as much make up in the morning as if they were about to have TV shoots allllll daaaaay looooong. But the most common way is no make up at all, maybe a little lip gloss, but that's it.
Going out, on the other hand, is something different, you could tell if someone is having a "after work" or not by the amount of time is most likely spent on the make-up. Either way, the simple red lipstik or smoky eyes in different variations (last one requires waaaaayyyy more time), they kind of define the outfit completing the look.

Note: as in every city, small or big, people are not always blessed with the sense of style. This tends to be happening even in Paris, so not all of them are as naturally stylish as you might guess. + the amount of tourist wearing baggy sweats and trainers... it makes it easier to spot the style on streets and also makes it harder too in a way.

So, another thing: parisians never wear the trainers. It is a good locator though - wearing running shoes, obviously not from around here. Never ever wear those here, svp. Gym is the only place for them, unless your doctor asked you to wear them in public and you have a note to prove it. Or! when you are doing your morning workout.
